A well-established and growing group of companies operating in the maritime services sector is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join its finance team in Limassol. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient financial processes while contributing to the continuous improvement of internal procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting operations and ensure accurate data entry within the accounting system
  • Process and review accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and supporting documentation
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and relevant regulations
  • Assist with VAT submissions, tax documentation, and regulatory filings
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing required information
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoicing, accounting, and payment discrepancies
  • Contribute to process improvements and accounting system enhancements
  • Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as required

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of previous experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end procedures
  • Knowledge of VAT and basic tax compliance requirements will be considered an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
