Our client is seeking a motivated and hands-on Technical Engineer to join their growing team in Limassol. The role focuses on the installation, configuration, and maintenance of advanced technical systems and infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and set up equipment, instrumentation, IT systems, and communication systems in accordance with project specifications
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, fault resolution, and system optimisation
• Assist with the installation and support the maintenance of network infrastructure, servers, and communication equipment
• Manage inventory of laboratory and technical equipment, tools, and supplies, including tracking usage, replenishing consumables, and coordinating maintenance and repairs
• Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, service reports, and equipment records
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and vessel crews to ensure timely and efficient project execution
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, enhance equipment efficiency, and optimize resource utilization through process improvements and automation
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, maritime regulations, and company procedures at all times

 

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking fundamentals, and peripheral systems
• Proactive, well-organised, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and systems
• Willingness to attend vessels (onshore/offshore) for installations, troubleshooting, and commissioning
• Availability to travel for project support and on-site technical assistance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

 

Preferred Qualifications / Technical Skills:

• Understanding of OSI model and TCP/IP networking principles
• Knowledge of firewall concepts, basic network security, and traffic filtering principles
• Familiarity with Linux, including command-line navigation, file systems, and networking commands
• Understanding of networking products and technologies, including routing and switching concepts
• Experience or familiarity with satellite communication systems, such as Inmarsat, VSAT, and Iridium
• Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and network troubleshooting tools
• Interest in maritime IT systems and satellite-based communications technologies
