Acting on behalf of our client, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to maintain precise financial records for a group of companies and ensure full compliance with accounting regulations and internal controls.

 

Responsibilities:

• Maintain comprehensive bookkeeping records across multiple entities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to internal controls, including VAT, trial balances, and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards
• Generate monthly cash flow reports for the group
• Oversee general ledger postings, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, providing management with reports and insights to facilitate informed decision-making
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, assist with tax filings, and implement procedures to maintain regulatory adherence
• Coordinate with external auditors during interim and annual audits, implementing recommendations and maintaining strong internal controls
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls

 

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with a thorough understanding of applicable accounting standard
• Proficient in financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management
• Experienced in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Solid knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and high integrity in financial management
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex functions) accounting software
• Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken
