One of our clients, a leading fintech company, is looking for a Security Engineer to oversee critical cybersecurity responsibilities. This role involves configuring and managing firewalls, utilizing security-focused Amazon AWS services, conducting vulnerability assessments, performing essential network configurations, and addressing various cybersecurity tasks.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in protecting the company's network infrastructure and cloud environments, ensuring robust security measures and compliance standards are consistently upheld.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor firewall performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality
• Implement firewall rules and policies based on organizational requirements
• Assist in developing and updating security policies and procedures
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory frameworks, including PCI DSS 4.0
• Provide recommendations for policy enhancements to improve security posture
• Monitor security systems and analyse potential threats or vulnerabilities
• Respond to security incidents and conduct root cause analysis
• Collaborate with the IT team to implement remediation strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation of security configurations, policies, and procedures
• Prepare reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance status
• Stay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices
• Participate in security audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement
• Manage and secure AWS cloud infrastructure, including configuring security groups, network ACLs, and IAM roles
• Monitor AWS CloudWatch and ensure security compliance across AWS services
• Implement AWS security best practices and respond to cloud-related security incidents with root cause analysis
• Perform internal and external vulnerability scans to identify and address potential risks
• Conduct both Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) and Static Application Security Testing (SAST)

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in network security or a similar role
• Proficient in configuring and managing firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
• Strong understanding of network protocols, intrusion detection systems, and VPN technologies
• Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS)
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or vendor-specific firewall certifications
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of integrity and professional ethics
