A client of ours, a leading boutique real estate agency is looking for a Qualified Accountant.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the accounting function. Reporting directly to the CEO, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all accounting processes, financial reporting, and compliance with Tax/VAT obligations. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in accounting and a passion for delivering high-quality financial management. 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the accounting function for the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Prepare accurate accounting data and reports in a timely manner
• Manage the monthly closing process and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Ensure compliance with Tax and VAT regulations, meeting all obligations
• Review accounts payable and manage the collection of payments
• Prepare the annual budget and cash flow forecasts
• Generate and review monthly management accounts
• Process and execute monthly payroll, and generate the corresponding reports
• Ensure the year-end accounting process is completed accurately and on schedule
• Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective solutions
• Prepare financial reports and statements for management review
• Collaborate with auditors during annual audits

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills:

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA)
• Proven experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within a real estate or financial services environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and tax regulations
• Exceptional analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Proven ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency with an accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
• Fluency in both Greek and English
