A client of ours based in Nicosia is currently looking to hire a Compliance & Regulatory Officer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a compliance professional with strong knowledge of MiFID II, AML, and CySEC requirements to join a dynamic and growing environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Manage client onboarding processes, including KYC/AML checks, suitability and appropriateness assessments
• Perform ongoing client monitoring and periodic reviews
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports; maintain accurate compliance records
• Review client communications, marketing materials, and documentation for regulatory compliance (MiFID II)
• Develop, update, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures
• Monitor regulatory developments (MiFID II, AML, CySEC) and provide practical guidance to internal teams
• Support the implementation of compliance controls within business processes and systems
• Liaise with regulators and respond to supervisory queries or audits

 

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills:

• 5+ years of experience in a compliance role within an investment firm, CIF, or wealth management environment
• Strong knowledge of MiFID II, AML/KYC requirements, and CySEC regulations
• Ability to interpret regulations and apply them in a practical business context
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and manage compliance activities end-to-end

 

Nice to have:

• Experience working with or implementing compliance-related systems or automation tools
• Interest in leveraging technology and AI to enhance compliance processes, including automating KYC reviews, monitoring regulatory updates, identifying suitability exceptions, and building scalable compliance frameworks
